Carcharodontosauridae
Carcharodontosauridae means "shark toothed lizard forms" and is a clade of carnosaurian Therapod family that also includes Giganotosaurinae.
They lived throughout Gondwana, with some species in North America and Asia during the early to middle Cretaceous. Even though they were extremely advanced they were however replaced by Abeliesaurs and Tyrannosaurs.
Carcharodontosaurids included some of the largest land predators ever known: Carcharodontosaurus, Mapusaurus, Giganotosaurus, and Tyrannotitan who were all at least 12+ meters long.
Characteristics
They usually had narrow long snout and large shark-like teeth, they were mostly medium to large sized creatures. Along with Spinosaurids they were the largest predators in their respected environments, they are also known to have lived in packs in order to hunt dinosaurs much larger than themselves such as Argentinosaurus and Paralititan.
